Sindhu is in the finals of the women’s singles tournament in Singapore, where she will play Wang Zhi Yi of China. Zhi Yi, her semi-final opponent, similarly impressed by dispatching of Japan’s Ohori Aya in straight games.
Earlier, in a match that lasted 62 minutes, Sindhu defeated her Chinese opponent Han Yue 17-21 21-11 21-19 to go to the semifinals.
The star shuttler from India then easily defeated her Japanese opponent and advanced to the championship round. This year, Sindhu has won two Super 300 tournaments: the Syed Modi International and the Swiss Open.
